It requires an understanding of anatomy, correction objectives, fixation requirements, visualization, and the sequence of steps in the operating room. As GLW expands its minimally invasive surgery platform, our focus extends beyond individual products to the systems that support their use. Our development priorities include:
- Procedure-specific workflows. Connecting implants and instruments around the requirements of a defined correction or fixation procedure.
- Visualization. Applying GLW’s proprietary Ortholucent technology to implant and instrument design, with attention to the surgeon’s view of relevant anatomy during imaging.
- Guided instrumentation. Developing tools intended to support controlled execution of key procedural steps.
- Practical efficiency. Considering instrument handling, procedural sequence, and preparation requirements alongside implant design.
- Surgeon choice. Designing with an appreciation for anatomical variation, different surgical approaches, and the need for clinical judgment.
Connecting Surgical Perspectives
