Hip Fracture Nailing System
Artemis PFN is an intramedullary nailing platform for fixation of stable and unstable intertrochanteric and subtrochanteric fractures. It features a titanium alloy nail partially over-molded with injection-molded carbon fiber reinforced PEEK material. This combination is designed to support load-sharing consistent with fracture fixation principles.
Strength and Stability
The integration of a titanium alloy core with carbon fiber reinforced PEEK is designed to support fracture fixation while maintaining radiographic visualization characteristics. The use of CFR-PEEK composite materials is designed to support radiographic visualization in both long and short nail configurations, which may assist assessment during follow-up imaging.

Redefined Nail Design

Radiographic Visualization
The composite materials are designed to reduce radiographic obstruction in both long and short nail configurations. This added visibility is intended to support assessment of bone healing and lag screw position during imaging review.

Lagshield™ Function
Lagshield is a protective layer of CFR PEEK on the lateral side of the nail, designed to help protect the nail’s load-bearing titanium core during reaming.

The proximal femoral nail kits, consist of the Nail and a preassembled Set Screw. Its universal design is intended for left and right femoral application.

Nail design intended to support insertion based on surgeon technique and patient anatomy.

Proximal Femoral Nail Kit
The proximal femoral nail kits, consist of the Nail and a preassembled Set Screw. Its universal design is intended for left and right application.
Lag Screw
The lag screw has a diameter of 11mm and is available in lengths ranging from 70 to 130mm in 5mm increments. The most common lengths are offered in 2.5mm increments. The lag screw is made of titanium alloy.
Anti-Rotation Locking Pin
The anti-rotation locking pin is designed to provide additional resistance to rotation during fixation.
Locking Screw
The locking screw of the Artemis PFN is blunt tipped, self-tapping, dual lead thread and have a diameter of 5mm. It is fully threaded and comes in a wide range from 25mm to 110mm in 2.5mm increments up to 50mm and in 5mm increments up to 110mm. The T25 Torx screw head is designed to support torque transfer during insertion.
Hybrid Materials and Manufacturing
Patented manufacturing process utilizes a combination of titanium and composite materials. The nail combines a titanium alloy core with CFR-PEEK over-mold features designed to support fracture fixation and radiographic visualization. The manufacturing process combines titanium and injection-molded CFR-PEEK materials.

Lagshield® Function
Lagshield is a protective layer of CFR PEEK on the lateral side of the nail. This prevents the lag screw reamer from notching the nails load bearing titanium core during the reaming procedure.

Lagshield is designed to support reamer guidance and help protect the load-bearing titanium core during the reaming procedure.ng procedure.
Multiple Locking Options
A lag screw with an optional anti-rotation locking pin configuration is designed to support fixation and compression based on implant construct selection and surgeon technique.

A one-piece cannulated set screw is designed to lock into the lag screw and limit rotation within the construct.

The lag screw construct is designed to permit controlled collapse of the head fragment while limiting rotation.

The locking pin is designed to engage the lateral cortex and the nail to support construct stability while permitting controlled collapse with the lag screw.

Added Visibility
The composite materials provide clinical benefits with improved visualization in both long and short nail configurations. This added visibility allows for easier assessment of bone healing. The radiolucent proximal end of the nail is designed to support radiographic visualization of the femoral neck in oblique medio-lateral imaging.

Streamlined Instrumentation
One concise instrumentation tray with three dedicated layers for preparation, insertion and extraction.
Dedicated instruments are designed to support preparation, insertion, and extraction based on surgeon technique.
